This building was built in the 1930s by The McDonald Family who lived on the land in the 1930s and 1940s. The original structure is stone. This house was built in the bungalow style of the time period. When the Franklin family lived here, Nate Franklin and his wife and children lived in what is now called the Franklin House, and this smaller stone house was the home of his parents. You can see where the front porch was enclosed as the front foyer. The brick addition was also added when the school was purchased in 1973 for offices and storage space for school records. The original fireplace is no longer used, but there used to be a wood burning stove in the front office that was used for many years to make the office warm in the winter. In Winter 2011, the cottage became the home of our camp offices, health center and teacher workroom.
